Congrats to our Intel Giveaway Winner – Kelly Raudenbush

Wow! The entries poured in for our Digital Mom giveaway sponsored by Intel and we couldn’t have been more excited to read all the comments, and see the bonus entries some Moms submitted with photos and videos.

We are so excited to announce our winner below who will receive a Sony VAIO Laptop valued at $979.99.

We loved all the entries and effort everyone put into entering this giveaway. Making a choice was very difficult. Our video and photo entries were especially amazing too – deciding a winner was no easy task!

The bonus photo and video entries were so stellar that we decided these can be used again for consideration to win our July laptop giveaway too.  (With the exception of our winner’s entry of course!)

Drumroll please……..

Our panel of 5 judges was totally moved by this bonus entry from Digital Mom, Kelly Raudenbush, from Pennsylvania. So congrats to Kelly for winning our 1st ever Digital Mom Handbook giveaway!

Take a peek below and you’ll see why we were moved to tears. This video just captures the power technology has to revolutionize the life of a Mom and the way we communicate with each other.

Meeting new Moms online who are doing amazing things with their lives is one of the things that really inspire both of daily in this space. Again and again we find ourselves meeting incredible Moms doing amazing things in so many areas –  as business women, advocates, parents, and friends.

Our winner Kelly is surely amazing as she is growing both her family and a business at the same time like so many of us “Digital Moms.”  Plus, she’s launched a website to help other Moms get grants to help them in their journey of adopting internationally.  Congrats to Kelly for her success online and for moving us all to tears with this video! She really captured the power of technology with this 1 minute clip didn’t she?

Bio: Kelly Raudenbush is a busy mom/manager to 4 children–the youngest of whom was adopted from Baoji, Shaanxi, China–who considers herself a professional juggler, juggling her calling as wife and mother while also following her heart with other projects, projects that make her a full-fledged digital mom. In addition to working part-time for years as a professional editor, in May 2010,Kelly started a retail business with a friend living in China called Jiayin Designs selling custom silver charms made in Beijing as well as other handmade items geared towards adoptive families. Through Jiayin Designs, they are able to employ Chinese locals so that they can support their families while also providing beautiful pieces of Chinese culture to adoptive families. And, profits help to support a Chinese couple doing charity work there as well as other causes. That following summer, Kelly launched the website We Are Grafted In to provide support to foster and adoptive families from a Christian worldview. Over 125 contributors have made the website a compelling place for both prospective adoptive families as well as ones who adopted years ago. Her most recent venture includes founding the nonprofit The Sparrow Fund with her husband in order to provide grants to families adopting internationally specifically for the purpose of preadoptive counsel and support, in-country support when they travel to bring home their child, and postadoption support. You can learn more about their adoption story, how they’ve been changed, and what life for them looks like–digitally and when they unplug–on her personal blog Boy Girl Boy Girl Boy Girl.

Here’s Kelly’s comment entry too if you’d like to read more about her:

I am not the perfect mom, nor can I say that I know what the perfect work-home balance is. But, what I can say is that technology and social media has changed what life looks like as a parent. For many, gone are the days of having to be behind closed doors in a home office or gone for hours day after day at an office away from home. Because of technology, work is mobile. And, because of that, we are mobile, allowing us to do the mom carpools and 400th trip to the playground and plan class Valentine’s parties and the like. Technology and social media are most definitely empowering and allow me to do what I do—start a small business and a nonprofit while parenting 4 young children. But, I have also faced the significant challenge that comes with that and now recognize the responsibility I have to know when to close the laptop, tuck the smart phone away, and be fully present so that my family knows that they are my top priority, not just another ball to be juggled.

Disclosure:We partnered with Intel to host this savvy giveaway for Digital Moms. Thanks to Intel for supporting our Digital Mom community and providing this excellent prizing.
