Digital Mom of the Week: Erin Chase

We are thrilled to continue highlighting Moms in our digital community. As you know, every week we are announcing a Digital Mom of the Week, and we couldn’t be more excited to be doing this series.

Working in the mom digital space, we know how hard every mom works in maintaining her blog, her Twitter feed, her Facebook page, her YouTube page, her blogging relationships and everything else that goes into making a successful business from being a Digital Mom. It’s not always easy, but it can be done! We’re excited to introduce you (or re-introduce you) to some Digital Moms making great waves in our community.

This week we want to recognize and name Erin Chase, also known as the $5 Dinner Mom, as our Digital Mom of the Week.

Erin, a mom of 3 young children,  started couponing and blogging in 2008 and has skyrocketed with her amazing concept of $5 Dinners. As she says, “I have a little problem. I can not make a meal that costs more than $5. Even if I try. My brain will no longer allow it.”

Her blog is all about her brilliant, frugal, healthy recipes – that are all $5 or less and her concept earned her a book deal which further expanded her platform and ability to spread her motto to “Feed your family on $5 or less.”

Take a peek at one of her books here.

We’ve always admired Erin from afar in the blogosphere for her ability to turn her passion – about cooking meals for $5 or less – into an entire career and brand for herself.

She truly is known as “The $5 Dinner Mom.” Erin is a brand. And one that is always evolving and expanding as she writes new books and appears on major national TV shows sharing her recipes and frugal wisdom. Just last month Erin was on ABC’s, The View!

Erin has also appeared on the Rachael Ray show, as well as in Woman’s Day magazine and All You magazine.

Erin also is always willing to share her expertise with others about turning a blog into a business. We love that someone as successful as her is always willing to help others learn more to reach their business goals.

She is a leader in the couponing community and one of the co- founders of SavvyBlogging.net, a site that is dedicated to helping other bloggers learn more so they can improve their blogs and turn them into true businesses.

We stumbled upon Savvy Blogging when we saw people sharing great blogging business  tips and technical questions on Twitter with the hashtag #savvyblogging last year. If you ever have a bloggy question and use that hashtag, most likely some other savvy mom blogger will respond with an answer. In record time. We love it.

We are honored to name Erin as this week’s Digital Mom.

Thanks for all the inspiration – both online and in the kitchen!
